If I was led by God to love God, step by step, as it seemed, if I accept that the beauty and the rapture were real and true, then the rest of it was God's will too and that is cause for bitterness

"Matthew ten, verse twenty-nine," Vincenzo Giuliani said quietly. "'Not one sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.'"
"But the sparrow still falls," Felipe said.

Life is card game. You have to play the hand that it has dealt you. You may not be able to choose the cards you have but you can always choose how you play it.

    guffaw

Just a while ago I had almost fell off the steps I was on. It was a good thing, though, that I was able to grab hold of something before I fell flat on the floor guffawing my lungs out.

Confusing? Let's backtrack a bit... During my summer term I met this guy through a friend. We hit it off quite well and the next thing I know is that he is beating the others in terms of frequency of calls and text messages. Now, just a few days ago I had an altercation with someone whom I hold dear in my heart and then he called and started a conversation which I found extremely annoying. I wanted so much to avoid mindless chatter that I told him that I am not in the mood. I said my goodbyes and put the phone down. Today, I learned that he was quite 'turned off' by my temper. Big surprise... Not! Admittedly, I purposely did not control my temper hoping that I would annoy him... I wanted to know if he would forgo this lapse and maintain whatever delusion he has on his little grey cells. I wanted to know which 'me' would seem more real to him, the extremely perky and bubbly me (the one that most people see esp. the people lisa and chal put in "The List"- excluding my close friends and old classmates), the serious and logical me (the one that most people I work with see excluding aikee... i guess), the sensitive and ought-to-be-hugged me (joe! li! cha!)or the fiery tempered me... Well, the fact that he's still pestering me after he laid down the judgement that he was 'turned off' is making me think that he set aside that lapse. egad... now what am I supposed to do with him?

Now why was I laughing again? Oh I can't tell yet 'til I trell this weird event. It was 3 am and my cellphone rang, the guy on the other line was asking me what room is roxanne(?) staying in. Dazed, I didn't know what to answer at first and the only thing I was able to say was 'scuzi?' He repeated his query and I told him that I personally don't know any roxanne. He then proceeded to tell me that roxanne was the girl we met in the bar. I asked him "what bar? I haven't been in any bar." Now that must have jolted him a bit and he asked, "wait are you still here in boracay?" (GOD! How I wish I was but I had classes dang nabbit!) I told him "no." He then asked me, "is this rachelle." I told him "the last time I checked, yes I am rachelle" Then it must have dawned on him... I was not the rachelle he thought I was. He started apologizing like hell and he asked some questions and when he got the answers he realized that I was the rachelle in the Young Economists Convention and he got my number from the forms ( I think...) Anyway, the conversation ended and I got myself some sleep. The next day, I got weird messages that was, as my sister called it, icky so to speak. A few days later, I found this weirdo at teh unversity with chocolates to thank me for being nice to him (retch!) Of course, as the chocolate addict that I am I accepted it right after the right amount of refusal from my part. When I stated my intent of leaving the premises, he said goodbye and landed an offensive smackeroo on my forehead. Heaven forbid that I see his face a again because I have a plot to bludgeon it... I allow only one person to do that to me and it ain't him. For a few days, he tried apologizing after realized his error but I gave him the freeze. Goodness gracious! The next time I see him I'd make sure I have my favorite blackbelter by my side to pummel him if he comes even three feet of me! Garr....

Anyway, the stories above are the ones that I told my 'ragazzo'. He didn't mind, of course since (for those who are not aware) we are both completely open to one another. He commented, however, that those things transpired because I was 'bello/bella'. Instead of saying a humble 'grazie' I started guffawing like hell. I could not believe what I heard. I told him that I refuse to believe what he had said in mid-guffaw and he insisted that I was wrong. Lord, what did I do to deserve that from him! *sigh* Anyway, being as stubborn as him I refused again and demanded a logical explanation along with solid evidence to contrary. As usual, he gave me a brilliant oration that gave what I had demanded and predictably, I refused to acknowledge his arguments. We have currently postponed our discussion as I am not in my proper mental state to battle this one out with him. Surely he would not forget to bring this one up anytime soon as he is bent on making me believe his statement... Lord knows that I so much wanted to believe him but the reasons why I can't is a whole different story that I would relate some other time...

    accounting and counting votes

I love accounting... or so I would like to believe. Accounting has proven to be a nuisance. Why? let me enumerate

1.) When there is a certain movie I'd like to watch on my free day, my accounting professor will suddenly announce that there would be a test/paper due on the following day.

2.) It is always the case that we would arrange to meet after an accounting exam - meaning I look like hell everytime I see him...

3.) His only free time to go to DLSU is on monday and wednesday afternoons - guess what on those afternoons I usually have extended accounting classes, if not, make-up accounting classes.

    4.) Procastination is an impossibility.

5.) One has to be always updated with the latest SFAS to get exams about accounting theory correctly. Meaning, I wasted a lot of time reading books that are practically useless because they just updated the SFAS (again)...

    6.) I lose sleep.

7.) I lose the time needed to talk to the person I could spend most of my waking hours with... and suffer its consequences...

8.)... I just plain hate it... no reason could justify that...

However, as Confucius once said, "Choose a job that you like and you would never have to work a day in your life". We have already discussed this passage and though it possesses meaning, it shall only hold true if a person knows what he/she truly likes.

Oh well, I'm running out things to say... Let's see if he's finished studying asian history... ciao!

    *sigh*

    Talk about wrong timing...

Just when we already decided that we are to remain 'just friends' for an indefinite period of time then this gossip surfaces out of nowhere. I have talked to him about it and he seemed nonplussed about the whole thing. God! and it is my fault too. Why? Because I told him that I was embarrassed by the whole thing. He got hurt and now nothing I say can seem to get across him.

I guess I would have to reason it out with him some other time...
